Abide by the Word of Jesus!
Matthew 14,30-31: „But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, ´Lord, save me!´ Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, ´You of little faith, why did you doubt´”
When Peter first responded to Jesus' word, he walked right across the water without a problem. His whole being was fastened on that Word Jesus had spoken to him: "Come”.
But when he took his eyes off that Word, he started looking at the storm. He started looking at the impossible things he was doing. He started to focus on what he knew in the natural realm instead of what Jesus said. When he did that his faith slipped out and started to sink. Don't let that happen to you! Don't focus on anything else but on what Jesus has told you. The devil will do everything he can to get you to lose Jesus´ Word. Always keep your eyes right on the WORD OF GOD.
Hebrew 4:12: “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.“
The living Word of God is the only power strong enough to discipline our selfish lifestyles. We need to listen to the Spirit of God who advises us through the written Word, the Holy Bible, in every step of obedience as we follow Jesus.
